Home Services Questions
While not mandatory, it is certainly a very good idea. Some service plans, like many you might be offered at an electronics store, don’t ever really get used before they expire. The product outlasts the protection.
Not with a TUDI home service plan. We thoroughly clean and adjust all your heating and cooling systems-some of which could be over a decade old. And we test mold and allergy centers like your air ducts to find out whether they need cleaning.
When it comes to extending the life of your equipment, avoiding imminent breakdowns and ensuring the comfort and quality of your environment, it’s really a no-brainer to get an annual TUDI service plan.
Another difference between this and many other service plans: you don’t need to remember to call us; we’ll call you when it’s time for your annual inspection and arrange an appointment at your convenience.
It’s a great idea to change any filters regularly, based on the manufacturer’s recommendations. And take a tour every three months inside and outside your home to check for easy-to-see problems such as crowded or obstructed airflows, damaged pipes or hoses, and other obvious performance hazards.
We do not recommend handling more complex tasks yourself, as you may damage your equipment or home, and void certain warranties. It is safer and often less expensive to have a certified TUDI contractor come to your home to provide professional service.
At your own risk, you may wish to do a quick check to see whether your oven or a stove burner is on. If so, you may choose to turn off the gas flow and open all windows and doors, making sure to NOT light a flame of any sort until you are sure that was the cause and end of the problem (i.e., there is no more gas smell).
If the smell is overwhelming and/or persistent, vacate all people from your home immediately and call emergency services from a neighbor’s home or your cell phone.
When in doubt, always err on the side of your and your family’s well-being; gas leaks are serious, potentially fatal matters that require your immediate and prudent attention to preserve all human life.
As with gas smells, follow common sense.
A leak under a water heater may indicate rust and erosion, with a large amount of water being barely held back. Unplugging an electrical unit that has water on or near it may be life-threatening, due to the potential for electrocution.
The best policy is this: (1) don’t ignore the problem, as it won’t go away and could get significantly worse and (2) call a TUDI professional at the least sign of risk to yourself, your loved ones and your home. We will respond rapidly, and we have the training and experience to fix any heating, cooling or plumbing problem fast.
